Alpine Rafting Guides

The Alpine Team are hand-picked for their professional, maturity and experience. Due to the nature of the Kicking Horse and our high standards, we only place you in the care of the best. Did we mention our Team Rocks? That's right, we're not afraid to say it! Our guides are fun, informative and keen to share their love of the river with you! Not to mention, they'll give you a great ride.

The average age of our guides is 32 years of age, with an average of 8 years guiding experience--ensuring life experience and river expertise. Our Guides are serious about the work they do, and receive annual in-house training from the River Manager and Owner. They are all certified Swiftwater Rescue Technicians and hold Wilderness First Aid Certificates.

Summer 2010 Update: We are pleased to announce that the vast majority of our Team will be back for another season on the Horse - and we couldn't be more thrilled! Ryan will be back as River Manager, as well as many of your favorites - Graham, Cam, Lee, Edith, Sandy and others.

My favorite Run is a Grade 5 above the bridge on the Moriston River. It used to be a commercially run river, but it is no longer, so now we just run it for 'fun' It's a scary one!

Edith

My fave run/rapid, besides the Kicking Horse is a rapid on the Canyon Section on the Rouge River called Washing Machine. I love this rapid because there is lots of opportunity for play; both in high and low water

My favorite rapid is Last Waltz Rapid in the Middle Canyon of the Kicking Horse River, it's an unassuming hit near the end of the Middle Canyon that really takes everyone by surprise and gets them soaked!

My fave run/rapid was my first trip down the Moisie River...the remoteness of the river and the fact that is was my 1st kayak trip down a river made it so outstanding!

My fave run is the Conwy River in North Wales, UK. This river has loads of steep, glassy Grade 5 in a beautiful sculpted bedrock gorge. It's the first river around to come up after a rain and I love it.
