Rafting season on the Kicking Horse River is from May until mid-September. During this time, river levels will change dramatically. Regardless of when you join us, we guarantee you will get absolutely soaked, the whitewater will be continuous and you’ll have a tall tale to tell for many years to come! Our high water season runs runs anywhere from mid-June to mid-July.
The length of high water season depends on two things: how much it snowed the previous winter and how hot it is. High water dosen’t always mean better. In very high water the Lower Canyon section of the Kicking Horse River is closed to commercial rafting as it’s power becomes too dangerous. It’s an awesome sight to see the Kicking Horse River in high water and even better yet, raft it! In lower water we still enjoy class 3, 4, and 4 + rapids. The water is emerald green and you are guaranteed to raft the class 4+ of the Lower Canyon. If you’re unsure when you should join us, give us a call and we’ll help.
